The Next Mafia Game Is In Development

Mafia is celebrating its 20th anniversary today, and in a new blog post by Hangar 13, the leading minds behind the series reflect on its creation and history, as well as tease what’s next.

Longtime Mafia designers Roman Hladic (General Manager), Tomas Hobicek (Head of Production/Media Director), and Alex Cox (Director of Sports) sat down to discuss the entire history of the Mafia and their most cherished memories of the franchise. Here), but the most exciting news from the conversation is the confirmation that the next game in the series is in development.

Hebisek writes:

“I am happy to confirm that we have started work on a brand new Mafia project! Although there are still a few years left and we can’t share anything else, we want to keep working on this beloved franchise and continue working on it. Really excited to entertain our players with new stories.”

“a few years away” is a long time to wait, especially since the last mainline entry, Mafia III, is turning six years old, launching in October 2016. But we are happy to see this series continue and look forward to seeing where it goes next. In 2020, Hangar 13 released advanced remasters of all three games, the most important of which is a complete remake of the original dub. Mafia: Definitive Edition,
